PUBLIC CONSULTATION – CHURCHILL AND BLAKEDOWN SPORTS & RECREATION CENTRE

We have been instructed, as planning agents, to prepare and submit a planning application at Churchill and Blakedown Sports and Recreation Centre, Birmingham Road, Blakedown, Kidderminster, DY10 8JN which will seek full planning permission for a construction of a padel court adjacent to the existing play area.

We have written to a number residents in the locality with properties that adjoin the ground should you wish to comment on the proposal, or ask any questions, prior to submission of the application.  Plans are included via the links below – you will see that the play area, pitches and gym equipment are all to be retained as part of the proposals.

Proposed Block Plan

Proposed Padel Court

As part of work on the application to date we have had a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal undertaken which does not recommend any further survey requirements in relation to this element of the proposals for the site.  We have also had a noise survey/assessment undertaken which concludes that the proposals are acceptable for the site in the context of the surrounding development and a pre-application advice request, to Wyre Forest District Council, has come back positively in principle.  We are, therefore, confident based on the work to date that the proposal can be put forward appropriately in the context of a formal planning application but would welcome any comments that residents may, or may not, have prior to submission of the actual planning application.

We understand that the next Parish Council meeting is to be held on the 10 November 2026 and we have notified the Parish Council to allow this matter to be considered on their agenda too.

In that regard we would be grateful if anyone wishes to respond or make any comments at this pre-application stage that it is done so by email no later than 5pm on Friday 20 November 2026 to consultation@eldnarconsultancy.co.uk.

If you have any queries, or need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
